Which is better, classic M colors, or BASF?
I'd like to do this on a hot wheels version, but it might be too complicated...

The later. This was the very first M1 I ever laid eyes on (at a track no less) and it is...very cool. Glorious would apply to the whole viewing and sound experience not just the paint. It showed up with the black/Germany liveried one. But yeah the BASF just had presence, like a giant zebra striped race horse.

Any alternative answers?

I thought about the art car but I'm no Andy Warhol... Might be too hard to do in 1:64. Although.... Since the lines aren't as neat, it might be easy to do! You just opened my eyes!

The BASF would be crazy hard to do.

It looks like warhol started with a yellow car and painted the rest of the colors on, if that helps.

Unfortunately, I think you might be right! How's yours coming along? I just got my M1 in the mail today, so I've been looking for wheels!

I'm gonna try it. Might look like crap, but I can always start over.

The white is finished. The stripes will be added soon.

Nice! Hey btw what did you use to strip the paint? I am trying to use acetone (my wife's nailpolish remover) but it doesn't seem to be working very well. Did you just go for the hardcore stuff like airplane stripper?

I didn't.
Just sand the gloss off with some scotch pads.

Hm... and results are good? I'll have to try that.

Give me a bit, I'll post an update.
